iQ-SYSTEM PACS NEWS

Now available: iQ-WEB 7.2.9 and iQ-4VIEW 2.4

We are pleased to announce that we have released a fresh (and MDR-certified) version of both our iQ-WEB PACS software and the diagnostic zero-footprint viewer iQ-4VIEW. Below you can find out more about the features you can expect from these new versions.

Now available: iQ-WEB 7.2.9 and iQ-4VIEW 2.4

New Platform for up-to-date Cyber Cecurity:

  • Security updates

With the new versions of iQ-WEB and iQ-4VIEW, we have carried out several framework updates that result in an enhanced cyber-security and longevity.

  • Included MySQL 8 database for HIPAA and GDPR compliance
  • Dozens of cyber security fixes ensuring an attacker resilient operation
  • Support of the latest Windows Server 2025 technologies for seamless operation and long-term compatibility

Compliance:

  • Distribution of iQ-WEB and iQ-4VIEW further ensured by compliance with the EU’s Medical Device Regulation

With version 7.2.9 and version 2.4, iQ-WEB and iQ-4VIEW have not only become components of the medical device iQ-SYSTEM PACS along with iQ-VIEW and iQ-ROUTER, but also compliant with the Medical Device Regulation (EU) 2017/745 (MDR). What does this mean? The MDR compliance ensures that the software can still be distributed and further developed under highest quality standards and in accordance with applicable guidelines.

Better Integration

  • Return to specific site in iQ-4VIEW after opening a WADO link

You can easily return to a specific page in iQ-4VIEW after opening a study via a WADO link using the viewer’s back button or refreshing the page. This time-saving feature can lead the user quickly back to e.g. the desired login page, EasyWEB page or any other URL of choice.

  • WADO: Search by date of birth

An additional mode was added to the WADO interface to be able to search for studies by the patient’s date of birth. Studies matching this search parameter will thus be displayed or opened in the specified viewer. (Other WADO search modes: Patient ID, Study Instance UID, Series Instance UID, Accession Number, Patient Name, Other Patient ID)

Improved Performance and Usability:

  • DICOM zip download now at twice the speed

For example, downloading a DICOM study of 500 MB took 6-7 minutes before, now only 90 seconds.

  • Effortless data integrity with Merge/Split

Avoid errors caused by accidentally merging studies, such as studies from different patients saved under one record. With our PACS solution, the Merge/Split feature enables you to separate and reassign studies with ease. Combine datasets for unified viewing or split them as needed, ensuring patient data integrity while streamlining workflows. Perfect for handling complex modalities, this tool minimizes errors and boosts diagnostic precision.

  • Play DICOM videos with or without audio

The global settings of iQ-WEB 7.2.9 now include the option to enable or disable audio playback when DICOM videos are played from within iQ-WEB. This allows users to choose whether or not they want to hear audio from voice annotations, ECG, Doppler ultrasound, etc.

  • More frame rates selectable in Cine Mode menu of iQ-4VIEW

We have added commonly used lower frame rates as choices to the right-click menu of the Cine Mode button in iQ-4VIEW (0.5, 1, 2, 6, 12, 15, 24, 32, 50 fps).

  • Improved navigation and usability in iQ-4VIEW

Study tab scrolling: In case of multiple studies loaded in iQ-4VIEW that take up the entire width of the viewer, arrows on the side of the study tab bar now appear to allow easy scrolling through the tabs.

Mobile swipe functionality: To also improve the usability on mobile devices, the bottom toolbar of iQ-4VIEW can now be swiped to the left and right with your fingers in mobile view.

Clearer download feedback for a smoother user experience: When clicking the button for the download of DICOM files in iQ-4VIEW’s upper toolbar, it now clearly indicates the download process to provide direct feedback. This prevents the user from accidentally starting multiple downloads at the same time, thus avoiding delays.

  • Enhanced flexibility with iQ-4VIEW

Download studies as non-DICOM files directly from the viewer: In addition to the traditional DICOM download option, the new version of iQ-4VIEW allows DICOM images to be downloaded as .jpg, DICOM PDFs as standard PDFs, and SRs as HTML files. As a result, all files can be viewed with standard software. This feature is fully configurable by the iQ-WEB user. Referring physicians can access images via WADO (via email or QR code) and, with the appropriate configuration, also download radiology reports as PDFs for local storage.

  • Updated license library to prevent sudden loss of licenses
  • Right-Click Menu: Efficiency simplified

Streamline your workflow with quick access to essential tools via the right-click menu. Navigate, adjust, and analyze images effortlessly with a single click.

Download and Upgrade Information:

  • As usual, iQ-WEB and iQ-4VIEW users with a valid Annual Service Package (ASP) can upgrade to the new version free of charge.

Note for Installation:

  • The reporting module of iQ-X is no longer supported in combination with an upgrade to iQ-WEB 7.2.9.
  • Furthermore the upgrade requires the latest MySQL version 8.0.41. Make sure to update MySQL first before running the iQ-WEB 7.2.9 installer.
  • For iQ-INTERFACE users: Please update to iQ-INTERFACE 4.0 to ensure that created WADO links are functional, and that the latest version of the encryption is used
