See more - select smarter: iQ-VIEW 4.0.1 now available
Selecting series within large studies may be a tiring process for doctors who do it all day. We have taken on this challenge and developed a unique and innovative solution, a simplified series selection in iQ-VIEW.
This is a valuable feature for all doctors who work extensively with CT, MRI, and fluoroscopy.
What’s new in iQ-VIEW 4.0.1?
- Better series navigation and view
This version gives you the option to display the series preview bar in single-line or multi-line mode (with permanent display of series labels), allowing you to customize it to your preference, especially when loading studies with many series. In addition, you can use the automatic height adjustment option.
- Improved GUI for easier workflow
The “Export” button has been revised so that the most frequently used function, “Export to medium”, can now be selected via the top item in the associated menu.
- Download and licensing information
iQ-VIEW 4.0.1 can now be downloaded from our Download Center. iQ-VIEW users with a valid annual service package (ASP) can update to the new version at no cost.
This patch doesn’t change the license requirements for version 4.0.0 and above. A fresh install of iQ-VIEW 4.0.1 requires a new license, and previously activated licenses for versions 3.1.103 or earlier must also be reactivated with a new license.
During an update, the setup warns the user that the license will be reset and it is recommended to follow the license migration instructions from the Administration Guide.
Optimize your modality workflow with iQ-WORKLIST 3.1
We are pleased to present a brand-new version of our powerful DICOM worklist server – iQ-WORKLIST 3.1. Just like preceding versions, it can interface with most radiology, practice, or hospital information systems, read scheduling data, and create DICOM worklists for imaging modalities. It accelerates the modality workflow and avoids typing errors, thus ensuring consistent data throughout all medical imaging systems.
What’s new in iQ-WORKLIST 3.1?
- Support of Other Patient IDs Sequence
This function allows the system to handle multiple patient identifiers simultaneously, making it easier to manage patients across different systems or facilities. For example, a patient seen at two hospitals with different ID systems can be seamlessly tracked or an insurance number or national patient ID can be tracked in addition to the local patient ID in the DICOM images. This reduces administrative errors and speeds up the workflow, especially in multi-institutional environments. To do so, iQ-WORKLIST now supports the DICOM tag (0010, 1002) for order placements and modality performed procedure steps (MPPS).
- Custom DICOM Tags for tailored workflows
iQ-WORKLIST now supports virtually any DICOM tag including, for example, responsible person, patient’s smoking status, patient’s address, animal’s owner, animal’s breed, species, animal’s sex, type of animal’s patient ID/chip. The possibility to configure custom non-sequence DICOM fields, including non-standard tags, allows you full flexibility, including the use of veterinary-specific tags, all retrievable via C-FIND.
- Improved log file management
The log file size and the number of log files are now configurable, which is particularly helpful in case of installations with a lot of data traffic and an activated debug level.
- Concurrent licensing option
This option allows you to run iQ-WORKLIST in a high availability environment, e.g. to run one instance of two.
iQ-WORKLIST 3.1 can now be downloaded from our Download Center. For detailed information on this product, have a look at our website or the respective product brochure.
Please note that updating to version 3.1 requires a new license. Of course, this is free of charge for iQ-WORKLIST users with a valid annual service package (ASP).

Hint: Can I use iQ-WORKLIST even if I don’t have a HIS or my RIS lacks HL7 capability?
Yes. If you don’t have a Hospital Information System or your RIS is unable to “speak HL7”, you can simply use iQ-WORKLIST SCHEDULER as a workaround. This free tool has been designed to easily schedule procedures via a web-based user interface by sending HL7 messages to iQ-WORKLIST.
Find out more about iQ-WORKLIST SCHEDULER 1.2 here.
Note: If you have used iQ-WORKLIST SCHEDULER in the past, make sure to uninstall the old version first before updating to version 1.2.
Case study: High Availability PACS at US Fertility, USA
US Fertility (USF) is the largest network of fertility or reproductive medicine centers in the United States comprising more than 100 locations. These fertility centers use imaging techniques to diagnose and document the fertility status.
In the past, they had been working with a home-grown PACS system to manage their medical image data. However, as USF’s center network continued to grow, the legacy software could not be scaled up accordingly and became unstable. So, they started looking for an alternative and a provider who could transfer their existing system into a highly scalable system as easily as possible.
The new system has been installed on Azure Cloud on 2 completely separated instances that automatically synchronize and switch in case of failover to provide near 100% uptime. The PACS comes with a deep integration into the fertility management system.
Check out our new case study to learn how iQ-SYSTEM PACS came to the rescue.
