iQ IMAGE Unveils iQ-WEB 8.0 – A Next-Generation Web-Based PACS

PACS vendor IMAGE Information Systems delivers major functional upgrade with powerful new features for enhanced security and user experience

Rostock, Germany, April 22, 2026. IMAGE Information Systems (iQ IMAGE), a leading international provider of medical imaging and healthcare IT solutions, today announced the release of iQ-WEB 8.0, the latest version of its advanced and fully web-based PACS (Picture Archiving and Communication System) software. This release offers powerful new features that ensure significantly simpler workflows, more security and better user experience for clinics, referring physicians and patients.

“With iQ-WEB 8.0, we have taken our well-known PACS software to the next level and present the next generation of medical image communication”, said Dr. Arpad Bischof, Managing Director at iQ IMAGE. “Besides the implementation of a modernized technical basis for future-proof performance and security, we have put major emphasis on usability. Especially the shorter WADO links now enable truly patient-friendly image access from any mobile device.”

What’s new in iQ-WEB 8.0?

  • Improved Split/Merge feature – for clean patient records

The split and merge feature helps to easily separate or combine studies, series or images that have been accidentally mixed up, ensuring improved data quality and clean patient records. This tool has been entirely redesigned and now offers a better visual user experience for an even faster workflow.

  • Shorter WADO links – for reliable mobile usability on iOS and Android devices

iQ-WEB 8.0 provides shorter user-friendly WADO links that are easier to manage, e.g., to integrate into reports, to print and scan as QR codes that have become more compact.

  • WADO links manager – for improved control and security

The new WADO links manager in iQ-WEB provides administrators with an overview and management of all created WADO links. The overview holds information such as the link creator, creation time, and expiration date, improving traceability, access control, and security. From now on, administrators can, for example, extend the validity of existing WADO links or change the viewer they should be opened in.

  • Easier modification of DICOM metadata

The new Modify window allows authorized users to review and edit DICOM metadata of patient, studies, series and images in iQ-WEB. Its interface features a guided workflow with change tracking, confirmation dialogs, and contextual help.

  • Customizable print page

The print page for the generation of QR codes now ensures better usability and customization of content and branding while maintaining DICOM compliance, readability and layout consistency.

  • Redesigned login and two-factor authentication (2FA)

The login page of iQ-WEB comes with a new and clear design featuring our PARATUS group logo and the current version number. If enabled, the redesigned two-factor authentication enhances system security and improves data protection.

  • Security updates

This release supports the latest versions of Apache, MySQL and PHP for improved cyber-security of the application.

iQ-WEB delivers a robust solution that enables seamless web-based viewing, archiving and secure sharing of medical images and reports – all from within standard web browsers and without installation of client software. For more information about iQ-WEB 8.0 and its new features, visit iq-image.com.
